El peeling facial is a treatment designed to renew the most superficial layers of the skin and whose purpose is to correct various skin defects. They are made with different chemicals or substances by laser. According to their degree of depth can be classified into surface, medium and deep. Each suitable for the correction of certain defects:
Superficial:
It takes place with little aggressive or cosmetics (retinoic acid, alpha-hydroxy acids, etc.) and use them to improve the overall appearance of the skin, systematically in the late postoperative period of lifting and hyperpigmentation and senile keratosis.
Medium and deep:
Causing a burn whose depth depends on the concentration of substances used (usually acetic trichloro acid between 10 % and 30-40%) and equivalent to mechanical dermabrasion.
The media are useful for correction of fine wrinkles. Where we make most often is in the perioral region (wrinkles of the lips) and periorbital (crow's feet).
We use the deep facial peeling in the treatment of deep wrinkles and the sequelae of scars., especially in acne. In these cases we usually use the trichloroacetic acid (TCA) at high concentrations or phenol-substance with cardiotoxic potential to be applied in the operating room and hospital regime. The results in deep facial wrinkles with phenol can be spectacular but causes thinning and final depigmentation of the skin is left looking like porcelain.
The peeling does not correct the pore size, laxity of the skin (if we have a very loose skin that needs a facelift), deep scars or vascular skin problems (telangiectasias, rosacea etc). In some cases, hyperpigmentation can be tough and dangerous fulfillment in skins oriental race or black.
